Taking on the World, One Day at a Time

I started travelling in my twenties, where I was lucky enough to spend a good few years working and travelling in Asia and Eastern Europe – an exciting time of change during the late 80’s.

Then, when I was thirty, I met my wonderful Tracy and we had two fantastic boys – Roman and Max. I took a long break from travelling to bring up my boys with Tracy in the UK. Now, at the ripe old age of sixty I have decided to throw my backpack over my shoulders and hit the road again and write about it.

Why I love to Travel

Travelling for me is not just about sightseeing

The things you learn from travel can really change your life

Not just about the destination, it’s about the journey there

Grow as a person

Meet others to educate and inspire me

To have my life enriched by the beauty and diversity of this amazing world and to have my eyes, mind and heart opened wide.

To make the most of my time on earth, to make every day count, instead of counting down the days till the weekend or to a 2 week vacation – because life is simply too short for me to live it any other way!

But most of all I travel to be free – to live life on my terms, to be in charge of my own destiny, to give myself the biggest luxury – Time. Time to pursue my passions, dreams and ambitions instead of spending the best years of my life day dreaming out of a rain streaked window, working all day for someone else’s dreams.
